I was part of a Chinese youth group when in high school and I do believe it was a joke but I don't think it was nearly as bad! @Words...: I appreciate your candidness on our black brothers and sisters. That's the first I've heard! Now it makes me feel a little bit better. Haha. Indeed, it seems as though you jumped feet first into the ethnic tardiness pool. Ha! Our rivals for lateness are our brothers and sisters of Asian descent. The first sort of cross-culture event that I went to on campus was a Filipino performance. This guy on my floor was involved with it, a bunch of folks went to support him. I think the thing started an hour late. That was my first lesson. Then I got involved with Intervarsity during the first quarter of my freshman year.. The fellowship was majority Asian-American, and I can count on one hand the number of times we started on time. As far as using traffic as an alibi for traveling tardiness - heck yeah I've used that. The freeways are such an easy scapegoat. San Diego is starting to become like that, but that's due to the lack of freeways. Before I started college, I thought the only people that were late for anything were Black people. Ha!
