@codemunky: Trudat, trudat. And there's a lot affecting "what you make of it," no? A lot is also behind the commitment because it seems to never get easier...

Reality is what you make of it. And it takes commitment to master it.

@Edrei: Thanks for sharing. I can't say that I understand where you're coming from but I can see how what you said is true. It's a hard thing to feel misplaced and feel so strongly about things that seem out in left field to most people you contact with. I guess personally, what I have to look forward to is the future. That somehow things will be more reconciled between what is going on in the inside and on the outside. Doesn't mean it's not an uphill battle but well, that's what hope is about.

It's hard for people in Malaysia (which is in Asia for the good folks that aren't aware) to believe that I grew up in it.

In fact, I get more assumptions from Australians themselves that I grew up in the states or Canada due to the same reasons Malaysians think otherwise, my accent and mannerisms, which by all accounts, are things I picked up from the telly.

Maybe I grew up already believing that the world is bigger than what I can imagine, because at the end of the day, those assumptions don't matter. They just by all accounts emphasize the possibilities of what a person can be regardless of geo-cultural background. I like to stick to that. My reality has always been one I've defined myself. Nothing else comes close to something I've felt comfortable with.
