@pelf – I hear and feel your pain and confusion. It’s funny to stop and reevaluate the reasons why we participate in a lot of things because so often it evolves into something else.

There are people I follow on Twitter that I know “in real life” (<–quotes) that I know are only half into it and don’t spend the time finding people to follow or cultivating their Twitter feed – which is fine. But since I tweet pretty darn often and it’s already integrated into my life admittedly, I can see how my feed might overpower theirs and though I follow all the rules I just blogged about – following me might STILL be annoying. I accept that. I just try and do my part and minimize the lame and mundane.

Until it’s served its use and the next big micro-blogging thing or social media thing comes along…

I’ve seen people who send tweets to their friends like it was a conversation.

I’ve seen people who send tweets about what they were reading at that particular moment, and suddenly, I found myself calculating how much time he needed to finish an article. Sometimes I didn’t believe anybody could finish reading an article in like, 15 seconds!

And most times, these people confuse me about how I actually use Twitter myself. At some point, I thought I had a clear idea of what I wanted to use Twitter for. But most of the time, I don’t.
