With hockey and basketball seasons upon us, you’ll want to go somewhere to pre-game a live match or simply watch the game on the big screen. Fortunately, the posh space in the lobby level of L.A. Live‘s J.W. Marriott known as The Mixing Room is offering up a few deals whenever an L.A. home team is in the rink or on the court.
In a sort of home team-spirited happy hour for those attending the game (and not), they’re offering a Street Food series, with one $8 featured menu item to run one to two hours before each home game. During this time, you can also get a 16-oz beer for $8, a flight of three beers for $12 and a street food item plus 16-oz beer combo for $15. For an idea of what street food item they’re serving when, peep this schedule. Think Korean Style Tacos, Cuban Sandwiches and Salvadorian Pupusas. Yes, folks, street food is now at a hotel.
Whenever Lakers, Kings, Clippers, or Trojans play home or away, the Burgers & Brews promo will be in effect, which means a burger, beer and side of fries for $18. Choose from the L.A. Market Burger (white cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon and balsamic onions on brioche), the Turkey Burger (piquillo pepper aioli, turkey bacon, lettuce and tomato on brioche) and the Veggie Burger (portobello mushrooms, truffle hummus and feta on brioche). I call it “hotel-fancy happy hour.”
In the mood for Halloween?
If you want to get really festive and indulgent, The Mixing Room has also brought back their insane junk food platter and Halloween-ified the sweet stash. Yes, it’s the Halloween Junk Food Platter, where you’ll find “Cobweb Cupcakes” and “Ghostly Milkshakes” just for your holiday enjoyment and only through October 31st, of course. They’re also offering four holiday cocktails for $14 each now through Halloween:
· Devil’s Handshake – Cazadores Reposado Tequila, lemon juice, simple syrup, ginger, egg white, and a dash of angostura bitters
· Corpse Reviver NO.2 – Ford’s Gin, Lillet Blanc, Maraschino, fresh squeezed lime juice, and an absinthe flambé
· Candy Corn Old Fashioned – Breaking and Entering Bourbon, Candy Corn Simple Syrup, and a dash of orange bitters
· Bloody Orange Drop – Charbay Blood Orange Vodka, fresh squeezed orange juice, blood orange simple syrup, and a “lychee eyeball”
…all of which sound surprisingly sound viable with not-too-crazy-gross holiday twists.
See you at L.A. Live sometime this season.
