There are happy hours where get enticed into what might seem like a great deal but, once you’ve arrived and start ordering, the specials don’t seem as attractive now that you see the menu up close. But the great thing about Restocking Hour at Stir Market is that there are specials on both food and wine, and the prices are at pretty big discounts on really tasty offerings.
Not that there’s a more needed introduction to the goods at Stir Market, however. You can spend an hour perusing all the curated items in their marketplace, whether from their bakery, their salad and entree station, rotisserie and expo kitchen, wine bar, and selection of takeaway gourmet products. Of course, the Restocking Hour – aptly named for the time taken to replenish their shelves – is the perfect place to start when it comes to prepared food. Sit at the bar to enjoy these deals:
Porchetta Chili Cheese Fries $6
Raclette Flatbread $6
Bar Baguette Sandwich $6
Market Cheese & Charcuterie $9 (select 3)
Rotating wines $6, beers on draft $5
I ended up visiting Stir Market twice in one week, while drinking rosé both times, and brunch being the other occasion. The tables also serve as a fantastic spot to sit down, wine and dine during the day. Thanks to the great food, wine, and all the natural light that floods into their spacious marketplace on Beverly Boulevard, my brunch with girlfriends seemed to go on forever in a pretty awesome way. So no matter what time of day you go, it seems that you’ll always be treated to some delicious fare by Chef Christopher Barnett.
When you peruse the marketplace, keep an eye out for the house special spice blends, brines, sugars to experiment with in your own kitchen. The refrigerator case full of pressed juices from Clover, kombucha Health Ades, yogurts, pre-packaged market salads, complemented by a dedicated parking lot, are perfect to grab on-the-go.
Sweets can be found in the aisles near the check-out counter, and is also where I discovered a pretty tasty artisan marshmallow that took me a few days to finish. There are just so many good things you’ll want to take home from the marketplace, so beware!
As for the food, it’s not like you need my permission to dive right in to the full menu, of course. It’s all delicious and the atmosphere is elegantly casual, to boot.
Food and drink hosted during restocking hour. Paid own way through brunch.
